What's Going on in the Industry?
In a 2007 study conducted by Agent Media Market Research, approximately 47% of the financial professionals surveyed said that they present information about life settlements to their clients on a case by case basis when they deem it appropriate. This number was up by 15% from the same study done the year before. The steady increase in life settlement activity overall can be attributed to many socioeconomic factors. From the perspective of the financial planner, the same 2007 study showed that 67% of those surveyed perceived life settlements as a major advantage in their practice because it provides clients with an additional planning tool to meet their needs.

Many of these seniors have life insurance policies bought when the kids were young, or income needed to be replaced, or goals needed to be protected. Now the insurance policies are not needed or wanted, the premiums may be a financial drain, and the client is talking surrender. A Life Settlement may be a good option.
